Bannan Institutes are yearlong programs based on a theme of deep concern to the University, the community, the world.
The 2012–13 Bannan Institute explores the content, meaning, and activity of sacred texts from a range of traditions, as these texts have been interpreted, performed, imaged, embodied, and contested in the public sphere.
Each Bannan Institute spans academic, public, and pastoral offerings to engage Santa Clara University and the larger community around issues of contemporary religious, cultural, and theological significance.
