Arrupe Partnerships Internship

The Arrupe internship arose out of a need to provide students with a richer and deeper experience in the community.  This program was also developed to respond to the community partner's need to have a student who would be at their site long enough to engage in activities of a more complex nature. An Arrupe intern is placed for a full academic year at one of the pre-selected Arrupe community partners.

  • Must be currently a sophomore or junior in good academic standing (2.5 GPA or better).
  • Makes a commitment of 6-10 hours per week for a full academic year, (includes travel time).
  • Previous experience in community, preferably through Arrupe Partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Engages in the community for 6-8 hours per week at their community placement throughout the academic year.
  • Acts as a resource person for, and mentor to SCU students who participate at the host agency in the Arrupe Partnerships weekly engagement program.
