Alumni Shadowing

Group photoAs a student in a Let Your Life Speak course, you will have the unique voluntary opportunity to shadow an alum in your field of interest. Shadowing consists of selecting a Bay Area alum from a pool of more than 120 alumni, attending a preparation and debrief meeting, and shadowing your contact for a half or full day. Shadowing may turn into long term mentorship and open doors for new opportunities. Students report the impact of the program below:

"I would definitely recommend this to a friend. I think that it is a great way to go about educating yourself on a specific career."
"This is a great way to meet people and get used to the real life work experience. You find out a lot of things."
"I learned not only about the job but how to be professional and contact someone in a professional manner."
"I can't rely on myself to research every career I'm interested in, and shadowing put a face and concrete experience to this job."
"Getting exposure to a potential career choice is crucial to making an educated decision on if it is right for you."
"It was great for networking. I was introduced to a lot of SCU grads who gave me good tips. [My alum] was willing to refer me to anyone else who might help."
