Survey Response Summary on GroupWise Question

Wednesday, Sep. 7, 2011

Early this year, 2011, IS conducted a survey which included a question about satisfaction regarding GroupWise as SCU's email program.  The survey was segmented by groups, i.e. student responses, staff responses, and faculty responses.   In general, these three groups varied between 28% to 33% "dissatisfied" or "somewhat dissatisfied".   This, in part, is why the effort is beginning to see if there are alternatives that might be more acceptable.

Here are the specific summary charts:

I noticed that the survey results here don't list how many people responded -- and whether the results are being treated as anecdotal, since the responses weren't from a random sample that would give us a margin of error to work with. In other words, before we assume that enough folks think Groupwise is OK and use data to back it up, we need to have data that can support it. (I'm definitely in the camp that would say that it's not providing the ease-of-use or robustness that other email options can.)
