Licentiate in Sacred Theology (S.T.L.)
IntroductionWould you like to extend your theological studies and formation beyond the Master of Divinity or the Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree? The Licentiate in Sacred Theology is a two-year Catholic ecclesiastical degree program in advanced theological study. The Jesuit School of Theology encourages lay, clergy and religious who are interested in service to the church in official capacities to pursue the S.T.L. program. In this degree program, students further theological inquiry in an area of expertise and continue their formation with the goal of ministering to the church of the 21st century. Graduates go on to serve in official roles in religious communities and dioceses; in teaching and administrative positions in higher education, diocesan schools, and seminaries; and many continue theological inquiry at the doctoral level.
