Simply check the appropriate scholarship boxes on the Application for Admission. Admitted students will be sent additional information about applying for the Public Interest Scholarship.

Applicants must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is available on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. When filling out the FAFSA, be sure to include Santa Clara University as one of the six schools that you would like to receive your information. Santa Clara University's federal school code is 001326.

The range is $1,000 to full tuition depending on the type of scholarship.

First year law students can receive up to $20,500 per year from the Federal William D. Ford Direct Loan program.

Students can also apply for Grad PLUS loans, and often receive up to the cost of attendance (student budget) minus the amount of other financial aid received.

Eligibility is often determined by an applicant's credit history.

Sample Student package:

$8,500 Subsidized Federal Direct Loan (interest does not accrue while in school)
$12,000 Unsubsidized Federal Direct Loan (interest accrues while in school)
$37,258 Grad PLUS Loan

Not everyone qualifies for any or all of the $8,500 federal direct subsidized loan. It is known as a "need-based" aid program. In the event that the borrower does not qualify for the federal direct subsidized loan, he/she may borrow the full $20,500 in federal direct unsubsidized loan.  For more information click here.

Most lenders take application information over the phone or over the web. Graduate PLUS lender information will be mailed to accepted applicants in the spring.
