LINK+ Service Notice: June 19 - 23
June 06, 2006 at 12:05 PM

On behalf of the Orradre Library staff, we are posting this LINK+ service notice for the law school community:  During the week of June 19-23, Orradre Library staff will relocate to temporary office space prior to the library building’s demolition.  Consequently, Orradre staff will not be able to process the SCU community’s LINK+ requests during the week of June 19-23.  Orradre staff will begin processing LINK+ requests again during the week of June 26, and these materials should be available by mid-week.  If you need materials from LINK+, place your requests by this Friday, June 9.  While Orradre staff cannot guarantee that your books will arrive before LINK+ service is suspended, there is a high probability that your LINK+ books will be available before June 19th if you request them by June 9th.

Online tutorials: Congressional materials
April 04, 2008 at 9:24 AM

Jesse Silva and Karen Munro at the University of California have created Flash tutorials on how to "Find a Bill" (1989 – present), "Find a Hearing," and "Find Congressional Debate." The tutorials last two to five minutes each. Most include an attached live screen shot that can be used to try out the illustrated search techniques on Thomas and Lexis-Nexis Congressional.

Although the Heafey Law Library does not have older issues of the Congressional Record in print – as featured in the Berkeley tutorial about Congressional Debates from 1873 on – we do have the Congressional Record in microform (vol. 95, 1949 -- ) and have access via Hein Online. Print volumes (1909 – 2003) and additional microforms (1873 - 1918) are available at the beautiful, new Orradre Library

Thanks to the Scout Report for a link and description.
