Hear Professor Hammond Speak On The Widening Digital Divide
July 21, 2008 at 1:16 PM

Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network and the Public Policy Institute of
California invite you to a presentation and panel discussion on:

The Widening Digital Divide

While Internet use and information technology is expanding, the digital
divide is widening for some groups in California. The Public Policy
Institute of California (PPIC) will present the results of its benchmark
survey on Californians' access to information technology, including
computer ownership, access to the Internet, and the use of mobile
devices. The survey, conducted in collaboration with the California
Emerging Technology Fund, also looks at perceptions of the role of
government in areas such as Internet regulation and broadband access and
availability.

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion led by PPIC
president, CEO, and survey director Mark Baldassare, an expert in public
opinion, including political, social, economic, and environmental
attitudes.

This event will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008, from 11:30 to 1:30
p.m. in San Jose.
