#1 Quantitative Research Assistant (QRA) Position

Santa Clara University Law Professor seeks research assistant to help him with an empirical research project conducted on behalf of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The research project will document the impact of FCC policy changes on minority and female owned television broadcast stations.

Strong social science research skills and a demonstrable proficiency in Excel, SPSS and/or STATA are required. An ideal candidate would have proficiency in more than one statistical package and be ready to start immediately.

The QRA applicant does not need to have an interest or background in broadcast regulation. The time commitment would vary from 5-15+ hours per week for two to three weeks. Work would begin immediately. Some meetings would be conducted in person in Palo Alto (Stanford Univ.) or Santa Clara (Santa Clara Univ.), or over the phone and/or via email.

#2 Research Assistant Position

Santa Clara University Law Professor seeks research assistant to help him with legal and empirical research projects conducted for the BroadBand Institute of California (BBIC) as well as regulatory and economic research conducted for a telecommunications case book. A strong social science research background with proficiency in either Excel, SPSS or STATA is a plus. An ideal candidate would have proficiency in at least one if not more than one statistical package and be ready to start immediately. The RA applicant does not need to have an interest or background in telecommunications regulation, however research expertise or a demonstrable interest in the area is a plus. The time commitment would vary from 1-10+ hours per week beginning this summer and continuing for the coming Fall '07' and Spring '08' semesters. Work would begin immediately. Some meetings would be conducted in person in Palo Alto or Santa Clara (Santa Clara Univ.) or over the phone and/or via email.

New IP Professor seeks research assistant

Colleen Chien is an incoming assistant professor who will be teaching patents in the fall. She needs a research assistant to help her with empirical research projects and class preparation.

Strong research skills and interest in patent law and policy issues sought. Experience with excel and statistical packages a plus though not required.  Commitment would vary from 1-10+ hours per week over the summer (though more is possible) and possibly extend into the school year. Work would begin immediately.  Summer meetings would be over the phone and/or in person in East Bay, San Francisco or on campus.
