March 2008
Online Advertising Conference, April 18, 2008
March 25, 2008 at 4:04 PM
With the explosive growth of online advertising, businesses and their
counsel must be aware of new technologies, their legal implications, and
evolving legal risks in the field. "The Law and Business of Online
Advertising" brings together academics, practitioners, business leaders, and
technology experts to discuss legal, policy, and technical developments in
online marketing. This intensive event begins with two tutorials led by
Professor Hal Varian (Chief Economist, Google) and Microsoft's Kim Howell on
the economics and technology of online advertising, followed by panels
exploring online advertising issues faced by consumers, publishers, and
advertisers. In-house and outside legal counsel who represent or will
represent businesses with online advertising should attend, as should those
developing or implementing online advertising technologies. Registration is
free and CLE credit will be offered at no charge to all HTLI benefactor
firms.

2008 Patent Law Interview Program
March 03, 2008 at 2:34 PM
2008 PATENT LAW INTERVIEW PROGRAM
Loyola University Chicago School of Law is hosting the 2008 Patent Law Interview Program on Thursday, July 31st and Friday, August 1st in Chicago, Illinois. This is a nationwide interview program that targets patent law employers, second and third year J.D. students and LL.M students with engineering and/or technical science academic backgrounds. Last year 150 patent law employers, 140 accredited law schools and 1700 law students participated. Employers prescreen and choose all of the students they interview. This is an excellent opportunity if you are interested in practicing patent law.
If you have an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering or technical science, you may want to consider registering for the program. This program offers qualified law students the opportunity to interview with patent law firms, as well as law firms, corporations and government agencies with patent law departments. There will be employers who will interview one day and some who will interview both days. The cost to register is $35 per student. The fee is non-refundable, even if you are not selected for any interviews.
To register, please fill out the Student Registration Form and bring it to Christopher Retana in Law Career Services in Loyola Hall Room 148 along with a $35.00 check no later than March 25, 2008.
