Flu Vaccine Update
November 01, 2005 at 4:05 PM
Message from Cowell Student Health Center
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We wanted to inform you of the latest information regarding the flu vaccine availability.
Maxim Health Systems notified us yesterday that they will be unable to hold the on campus Flu Vaccine Clinic we were sponsoring with them November 14th. They are experiencing delays in shipping from their vendors, and are unclear when they will receive the vaccine. They may be able to provide a clinic in early December.
Similarly, we are also experiencing a delay in receiving the vaccine we have ordered. Our vendor cannot guarantee we will receive any vaccine. If we do receive vaccine, it is unknown how much we will get or when it will arrive.
For individuals interested in getting the vaccine, the Santa Clara Public Health Department is providing the flu vaccine for $15.00 on a walk-in first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last. You may contact the Public Health Information Line at 408-885-3980, press "4" for flu shot locations and hours.
Also, you may want to check with you primary care physician office for availability. For additional information, you can also check the following website www.flucliniclocator.org
We will keep you informed of any updated information.

Issues with SCU Email Accounts
November 29, 2005 at 9:10 AM
An important message from SCU's Information Technology Department:
We are currently experiencing major problems with email to/from the Internet. SCU is currently the target of the latest Internet email virus/worm (w32/sober-aa). We are seeing a increase of greater than 1000% in email volume with all of that being invalid and infected emails. This huge volume is causing tremendous problems for the systems involved in delivering Internet messages resulting in delays and possible loss of messages.
We are working with our vendors to minimize the effects of these virus generated emails. As we have updated information, we will be posting on our IT status page located at http://it.scu.edu.
