There is a good list of steps you can take posted at the Sophos site.
There is a nice tutorial at http://it.scu.edu/spam/
Any messages determined to be containing SPAM, unsolicited junk or a virus will be placed into a "quarantine area" and not delivered to your email inbox.
Once a day, starting Tuesday, June 1st, if your quarantine area holds any messages, you will receive an email message from SCU Postmaster (postmaster@scu.edu) with the subject "SCU SPAM and infected Email Quarantine". This email contains a listing of any messages added to your quarantine area in the last 24 hours. Do not delete these messages without reviewing them and addressing any messages in your quarantine.
This email will presented you with options for deleting the items from the quarantine or releasing the messages to your inbox. You may even choose to not receive these reports.
Additionally, from a web browser, you will be able to view your quarantine and configure several settings to control some of the actions the gateway takes on your SPAM and virus messages. Once you have received a quarantine report, you may go to https://quarantine.scu.edu/Quarantine/ to access your quarantine online. If you go to this site prior to receiving your first quarantine report, you will not be able to modify any settings.
That is Microsoft trying to plug holes in their operating system, Windows, so that hackers and virus writers can't exploit those security breaches. You should always let the updates happen. It's for your own good. An illustrated tutorial is available.
The receptacles for power, internet, and VGA connection to the projectors are in the floor by the podium. There should be a VGA cable and equipment instructional booklet in the podium. The VHS and DVD players are located in the closet behind the glass touchpad. Remember, the only thing you do AT the players is to insert or eject the media. All other controls are on the touchpad.
If you check out a laptop from the Circulation Desk, cables should be in the bag. If you use your own laptop, cables can be checked out at the Heafey Circulation Desk.

For those of you who have home computers, but do not have anti-virus software loaded on it (such as McAffee or Norton), you can load the University's new Sophos anti-virus software on it. The University's license extends to home computers. You will not be able to use the automatic update feature as you can here at the university, but you can certainly update manually on a regular basis.
