Method #1 Click on the Start button and then on Programs

Method #3 In your taskbar you may occasionally see an Windows icon and a colored ball. If you put the cursor over it, it says there are updates to be downloaded and installed

| Using the first two ways, you will be taken to this page. The first time you go here Windows will install a little tool that lets it scan your computer. This is ok. Then click on “Scan for updates.” | ![]() |

| When it is through scanning it will show you what you can update. You only need be concerned with the “Critical Updates and Service Packs.” After certain updates you may be asked to restart your computer. If you are in the middle of some work, just say “No” when asked if you want to restart now. You can turn it off at the end of the day. | ![]() |
