Student Animal Legal Defense Fund

The Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF) seeks to raise the profile of the field of animal law and educate students and the community on the cruelty that animals face everyday, from the evils of factory farming to criminal animal abuse that goes unprosecuted.

Our main purpose is to create a system where animals are free from suffering.  This entails humane slaughter, humane treatment and conditions while alive, and being free from physical abuse.

We are affiliated with the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) and as such we have made a promise to uphold their mission: To Protect the lives and advance the interest of animals through the legal system.

Mission Statement:

We are an organization dedicated to the protection of animal welfare. Our goal is to work through the courts and the legislatures to defend domestic animals, farmed animals, and wildlife from abuse and exploitation, to provide a forum for education and awareness among the student body and to raise the profile of the field of animal law.
