Gail Gradowski
Gail Gradowski is from Detroit, Michigan. She received her A.B. degree from the University of Michigan, her Master?s in Library Science from Wayne State University and an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before becoming a librarian, Gail spent 2 years teaching math and English in the Peace Corps. Before coming to Santa Clara, Gail worked as an academic librarian at Chicago State University and Governors State University in Illinois and in both public libraries and corporate libraries. In addition to her work in libraries, Gail spent several years teaching English as a Second Language part-time at San Jose City College. Here at SCU Gail?s job focus has been information literacy and library instruction. She also provides reference and research assistance to faculty, staff and students at the research assistance desk and through the 24/7 online Ask-a-Librarian service and serves as the librarian liaison to the Education Department. Gail has served on several American Library Association committees, chaired committees and task forces in ALA in areas related to information literacy, and, alongside SCU teaching faculty, presented at regional, national and international conferences on efforts to integrate information literacy into the SCU curriculum.
