How Do I Find Course Materials?
Materials your professor has put on Reserve could be in two places:
- Electronic Reserves
- Selected readings and other documents that your instructor has put online can be found on ERes or through ANGEL.
Searching for reserve material on ERes is very similar to searching for materials via OSCAR. Start by selecting Electronic Reserves & Course Pages. Then type in your instructor’s last name and click the search button. Choose the right class from the results list, enter the instructor-provided password (if prompted), read the brief copyright statement, and then click on the accept button.
If you need any help using ERes, please contact the Reserve Department (libraryreserve@scu.edu, 408-554-5240) or ask for assistance at the Circulation or Information Desks in the Interim Library.
You may also be able to access electronic reserves through your course’s ANGEL page. You need to get information from your professor to access this.
- Hard Copy Reserves
- Books or other materials (e.g., photocopies, sample exams, CD-ROMs, etc.) that your instructor has put on reserve are held in the Interim Library.
Searching for reserve material under Course Reserves on OSCAR is quick and easy. Starting with a choice of searching either by Course Name or Instructor, you will be guided through your search.
Within a reserve list, the titles of the books are listed in alphabetical order on the left side of the screen and their locations, call numbers and status are on the right hand side. If the title you want is listed as CHECK SHELVES, write the call number down and present it to the staff at the Circulation Desk.
