Project Vote Smart
This site is dedicated to educating voters. They offer a wide range of resources on politics, elections, and candidates. One very interesting element is interest group ratings of legislators. The political parties page lists 62 parties and provides links and email addresses.
Smart Voter (League of Women Voters)
Provides lots of information regarding the 2008 elections nationally and in California. The Santa Clara County Ballot lists all the candidates for the American Independent, Democratic, Green, Libertarian, Peace and Freedom, and Republican parties plus ballot initiatives.
