These directories attempt to provide current information of the sort prospective authors would need, including scope/coverage, acceptance/rejection rates, number of reviewers, time required for review, availability of reviewers' comments, fees charged to review or publish the manuscript, copies required and manuscript topics as well as contact information. About 1100 journals are included covering education rather broadly and with an American audience. This is really three separate databases which overlap a bit in topical coverage but must be searched individually.

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) provides electronic searching for all of its publications. The CEDB provides access to over 170,000 records. Records that include abstracts go back to 1970, citation (with no abstracts) records go back to 1958, and book citations go back to the early 1900's. Compendex, the online version of Engineering Index, is a comprehensive database of engineering research literature, containing references to over 5000 engineering journals and conferences. 1884-present. The default search covers 1969-present. Use the pull- down menu to change the years of search coverage. The EI Compendex backfile added records from 1884-1968.

The COMPUSTAT databases on WRDS include Full Coverage, Research, Prices, Dividends & Earnings, Segments and Bank. For most companies annual data is available for 20 years and quarterly data for 48 quarters.
