Education Databases

These directories attempt to provide current information of the sort prospective authors would need, including scope/coverage, acceptance/rejection rates, number of reviewers, time required for review, availability of reviewers' comments, fees charged to review or publish the manuscript, copies required and manuscript topics as well as contact information. About 1100 journals are included covering education rather broadly and with an American audience. This is really three separate databases which overlap a bit in topical coverage but must be searched individually.

The weekly news and information resource for U.S. higher education since 1966. Internet edition includes everything in the print edition as well as additional online-only features and links to relevant outside information. Online archive includes everything published in the print version back to 1989.

Indexes and abstracts over 500 professional and scholarly education journals. Dates of coverage vary by title, but some go back to 1983. For 250 of the journals, full-text of the articles is provided, some back to 1994, but most for only the most recent 5 years.

This is a database of approximately 80% of the ERIC documents indexed in the ERIC database from 1993-present (or, ED348466-). You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0+ or a compatible .pdf viewer to access the full-text files.

Indexes and abstracts articles from over 400 library and information science periodicals in English and foreign languages from 1984-forward. Full-text of articles is available from 1997-forward for over 150 of these. In addition, over 300 books a year are included. Updated daily.

Designed specifically for high school libraries, this database provides full text for over 500 popular general interest and current events publications with information dating back as far as 1975 for key magazines. Includes nearly 550 full text pamphlets, 150 full text reference books, nearly 100,000 biographies, 76,000 primary source documents, and an image collection of 116,000 photos, maps and flags. Updated daily.

Provides full text for more that 50 popular magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990. Updated daily.

Index to the journal literature of the social sciences. It fully covers over 1,400 journals spanning 50 disciplines. Coverage also includes items relevant to the social sciences selected from 7,000 other journals. 1994-present. Updated weekly.
