When are Items Retrieved from the ARS?
When materials are retrieved also depends upon what type of materials you are interested in retrieving. We have a page with current detailed information on retrieval schedules for ARS items.
How Long are Items Held for Pickup?
Items from the Main Circulating Collection, including bound periodicals are kept at the Circulation Desk for 24 hours after they are retrieved. Items from the Archives, Government Documents and Special Collections are held for a period determined when you request the items from Library staff.
What is the Current Count of Items in the ARS?
The current number of items in the ARS (excluding Government Documents) is recorded on the ARS homepage.
How will I know if my items are ready for pickup at the Circulation Desk?
In OSCAR, when you are viewing the item record from the Main Circulating Collection that is still in the ARS, the STAT field will read 'Available'. An item that is currently being retrieved and transported to the Circulation Desk or returned to the ARS has a STAT field that reads 'In Transit'. Items that are ready for pickup at the Circulation Desk have a STAT of 'ARS Delivered'.
