
Students attend classes weekday evenings and may register for classes in the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarter. The schedule is set to meet the needs of busy working professionals: M/W and T/Th classes begin at 5:45 PM and 7:20 PM. Summer classes are also offered.

Most students complete the MBA requirements in 2 ½ to 3 years. Flexibility is allowed in the number of classes scheduled. Students may opt for either a cohort or regular program option. Short term leaves of absence may be requested. These options support life balance of school, work and personal obligations.

Eminent tenured and professional faculty make up a unique academic offering for MBA students. Innovative researchers as well as former corporate executives fill the teaching ranks and deepen curriculum offerings in the program.

The Emerging Professional MBA program is a two-quarter cohort experience. Each cohort consists of 30 to 35 recent college graduates who have entered the work force within the last three years. Students take at least one course each quarter with the cohort. Select additional workshops and seminars assist cohort members understand organizational dynamics and multi-generational workplaces. After two quarters, the Emerging Professional students complete remaining coursework within the Evening MBA Program.
Two cohorts are formed each Fall—one of full-time MBA students and the other of part-time students. Both cohorts attend evening classes, Monday through Thursday, with classes beginning at 5:45 PM and 7:20 PM. To be admitted into the Emerging Professionals program, the applicant must have fewer than three years’ work experience. The next Emerging Professional cohorts will begin in Fall 2012, with the application deadline of June 1, 2012.
The Santa Clara MBA is designed to develop leaders with a broad business, economic and social perspective, and who are capable of managing change in dynamic environments. Students develop breadth of understanding through coursework in accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing and operations and management information systems. A student’s curriculum will depend on prior academic work and the student’s academic objectives.
The culmination of your MBA education is the Capstone course which requires working on a team to develop a business plan. Business plans can be a proposal for a classical entrepreneurial venture or it can be a plan development in support of a new business development or line extension within an established company.
