 SCU Student Composer Commision

Music Major, Sally Mitchell has been commissioned by the SCU Ignation Center to compose a choral work commemorating the the legacy of the Jesuit martyrs who were assassinated at the University of Central American in 1989.

This work, Plegaria de Liberación (Prayer of Liberation), will be premiered on November 5th by the SCU Chamber Singers as part of a President Speaker Series lecture by Jon Sobrino, S.J.

This piece is also being featured as part of the SCU New Music Festival, with a performance on Friday Nov 6th (http://www.scu.edu/cas/music/nmf2009.cfm).
