  •  Tim Hsia, Jared Sperli

    Tim Hsia and Jared Sperli (Military Science) co-wrote an article for the New York Times' At War section, about how cyberwarfar and drones have revolutionized war. 

  •  Jonathan Zhang

    Jonathan Zhang's (Engineering)  students Dane Tomseth and Robert West were quoted in BioSpace.com about their work to commercialize a bioengineering project. 

  •  Elizabeth Drescher

    Elizabeth Drescher (Religious Studies) was quoted in a Mercury News column about the impact of social media such as Twitter on moving public opinion in favor of gay marriage. The story ran in several dozen sites or publications including Bloomberg BusinessWeek and city papers in New Haven, Conn; Denver; Pasadena; Northern Ohio;  and Ruidoso, NM.   

  •  Mike Malone

    Mike Malone (English) was included in a Metro article featuring  new grads Gabrielle Jasinski, Eliza Lamson, Hannah Miller and Liz Wassmann for the first book published by SCU students, Moving Out

  •  Judy Nadler

    An ethics workshop led by Judy Nadler (Markkula) was mentioned in a Dallas News opinion piece. Nadler also spoke to the Oregonian and Delaware online news about ethical dilemmas facing local and state politicians. 

  •  Tom Plante

    Tom Plante (Psychology) wrote a blog post for Psychology Today about what success is and how to achieve it. 

  •  Meir Statman

    Meir Statman (Finance) was quoted in Forbes discussing money moves when interest rates are rising; in a widely carried Reuters story about finding market values; and a Yahoo! Finance story about why we are obsessed with rich people. 

  •  Gordon Young

    Gordon Young (Journalism) was quoted in Lansing City Pulse about his book Teardown about Flint, Mich., and a look at the sense of community there through the lense of house hunting. 

  •  SCU Commencement

    SCU's commencement was broadly covered in the local media, with ABC7, CBS5, KSBW in Monterey,  KGO radio, and KTVU Fox, each featuring highlights of former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta's speech to the Class of 2013. The Mercury News' story on commencement was picked up by more than a dozen additional papers or sites.  David Drummond's speech to the law school graduates was covered in Corporate Counsel magazine.  

  •  Colleen Chien

    Colleen Chien (Law) co-authored a widely discussed op-ed in the New York Times about potential ways to combat abusive patent-assertion lawsuits. She also was quoted in Christian Science Monitor about Apple being banned from importing certain iPhone models due to lawsuit issues. She was quoted in dozens of stories from numerous outlets -- including the  Los Angeles Times, KLIV radio, the Recorder, Reuters, Reuters Breakingviews column, Mashable, PatentlyO, TechCrunch, and KQED radio -- about her research on patent trolls and President Obama's plans to combat them.
