  •  Jill Pelletteiri

    Jill Pelletteiri (Spanish) was quoted on KQED’s California Report about Google Translate and the limitations of such services. 

  •  Chuck Byers

     Chuck Byers (Marketing) was quoted in NPR’s Marketplace, about Yahoo’s gimmick of showing 30 different logos to users before unveiling its final choice.

  •  Office of Sustainability

    Due in large measure to the work of the Office of Sustainability, Santa Clara University was named one of the top 50 Cool Schools by Sierra Magazine. The magazine also included an online video featuring the Solar Decathlon team.


  •  Eric Goldman

     Eric Goldman (Law) was quoted in the New York Times,  RedOrbit and the Atlantic Wire about Twitter’s general counsel stepping down. JD Supra quoted his comments to MediaPost about a case holding a website operator liable for defamation for a user’s comments.  He was quoted on the issue of “revenge porn” and other topics in the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, BusinessWeek, Houston Chronicle, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, TechWeb, and Search Engine Watch.   More than a dozen publications or outlets carried a story quoting him about a YouTube lawsuit.

  •  Robert Hendershott

    Robert Hendershott (Finance) was quoted in NPR’s Marketplace discussing the dual roles of Ashton Kutcher, who played Steve Jobs and is also a startup investor. At least a half dozen stations nationwide carried the show. 

  •  Gary Macy

     Gary Macy (Religious Studies) was interviewed extensively on public radio station WGVU-TV’s Common Threads show, about the history of women’s ordination.

  •  Mike Whalen

     An NBC Bay Area story featuring Mike Whalen’s (Communication) comments about how Netflix is changing the way people consume media  was picked up by more than a dozen stations nationwide. 

  •  George Alexander

     George Alexander (Law) was remembered in an obiturary in the Los Altos Town Crier.

  •  Jim Balassone

     Jim Balassone (Markkula) spoke about the importance of workplace dating policies and business ethics in a Yahoo News article about an alleged Google affair.

  •  Pat Cain

     Pat Cain (Law) was quoted in the New York Times, as well as, about a landmark IRS ruling about gay married couples filing jointly.  Her appearance at a National LGBT Bar Association event was covered by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.
