  •  Claire Kunkle

     Student and National Science Foundation Fellowship recipient Claire Kunkle (Engineering) was interviewed by ABC7 and NBC Bay Area about a Society of Women Engineers event where SCU students showed high school girls how to build prosthetic hands. The NBC interview covered the importance of encouraging young women to pursue STEM careers.

  •  Beth Van Schaack

    Blog-post commentary by Beth Van Schaack (Law) was quoted in a New York Times story, which ran in other publications ncluding the Telegram, about how the international community needs to think creatively to ensure accountability in Syria. 

  •  Santa Clara University

     Santa Clara University’s participation in a special initiative to offer community college students greater access to law school education was noted in stories in AJCU Higher Ed News; the LA Times; San Francisco Chronicle; Inside Higher Ed; San Jose Mercury News and several TV and radio stations.

  •  School of Education and Counseling Psychology

    A new collaboration involving the School of Education and Counseling Psychology and the National Hispanic University Foundation to advance Hispanic education was highlighted in the San Jose Mercury News. The article ran in several other newspapers including the Contra Costa Times, Willits News, and Vallejo Times. The Bay Area Hispanic newspaper El Observador also ran a story. 

  •  Eric Goldman

    Eric Goldman (Law) was quoted in the The New Yorker about legal tactics used by an erotic website that is the biggest filer of copyright lawsuits, and in the Daily Mirror, a number of Mercury News stories, Search Engine Land, and Valley Wag on various tech-law topics. His comments to AFP about a controversial EU data case was reprinted in well over a dozen foreign-language and English-langugage sites, including Istoe Dinheiro of Brazil and Bangkok Post. KGO radio and the Recorder interviewed him about a new privacy-law certificate being offered by the law school’s High Tech Law Institute.

  •  Gary Macy

    Gary Macy (Religious Studies) was quoted in a story on KCBS- TV  in Los Angeles about women priests. 

  •  Irina Raicu

    Irina Raicu (Markkula) was quoted in Business Insider about the recent ruling of the European Union Court of Justice and how people now have the “right to be forgotten.” 

  •  CSTS's Inaugural Magis Dinner

    CSTS’s inaugural Magis dinner event was covered in a story and photo essay in the blog Innov8social, and in  a column in the San Jose Mercury News, including references to remarks by Thane Kreiner (CSTS) Michael Engh, S.J. (president) Kirk Hanson (Markkula), Mick McCarthy, S.J. (Ignatian Center) and Jim Koch (CSTS). 

  •  Northern California Innocence Project

    A conference on fixing eyewitness identification processes, sponsored by the Northern California Innocence Project, was covered on two news segments on KTVU TV as well as KGO and KQED news radio shows. Some of the stories quoted Maitreya Badami of NCIP. 

  •  California Program for Entrepreneurs

    Santa Clara’s California Program for Entrepreneurs (Leavey) was credited with helping program alum Jacquetta Lannan open up her own high-end hot dog store, in a story in the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
