  •  Jim Reites, S.J.

    Jim Reites, S.J., (Religious Studies/Solar Decathlon) was featured on KNTV’s Bay Area Proud segment for his work with engineering students including the Solar Decathlon Team.

  •  Ahmed Amer

    Ahmed Amer (Computer Engineering) wrote an op-ed run by Reuters news service, about the true magnitude of the Egyptian rallies and movement to oust Morsi. At least five publications or sites ran the op-ed. 

  •  Margalynne Armstrong

     Margalynne Armstrong (Law) was quoted in the Mercury News discussing the reality of racial profiling and assumptions that disadvantage young black men.

  •  Ed Maurer

    Ed Maurer (Civil Engineering) co-wrote an op-ed that ran in the Wall Street Journal’s MarketWatch, about the gaps in America’s civil infrastructure in preparation for climate change.

  •  Virginia Matzek

    Virgina Matzek (Environmental Studies & Sciences) was quoted by USA Today about a new study about how climate change is damaging U.S Coastlines. Numerous outlets picked up the story. 

  •  Northern California Innocence Project

    The work of NCIP to free Modesto landlord George Souliotes was highlighted in stories in the LA Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Modesto Bee, KTVU, KTUU, and Associated Press. Several  of the stories quoted Linda Starr (NCIP).

  •  Santa Clara University

    Santa Clara University’s ranking at No. 18 on Forbes’ list 25 Colleges with the Best Return on Investment, made news in the Silicon Valley Business Journal, Next Step Magazine and Forbes

  •  Tom Plante

    Tom Plante (Psychology) spoke to KGO Radio about the psychological effects of telecommuting in a story about the BART strike. The story ran several times. He was also interviewed on KCAA radio about his book Do the Right Thing

  •  Judy Nadler

    Judy Nadler (Markkula) spoke to KTVU about elected Oakland officials taking free tickets despite city budget issues. The story was picked up by several Fox affiliates. She also spoke to NBC Bay Area about politics behind a Hunters Point plan, and to the Bay Area News Group about conflicts of interests in an East Bay hospital deal. 

  •  Eric Goldman

    Eric Goldman (Law) was named to ABA Journal’s top 100 law blogs, called Blawgs. He was also quoted in stories in MediaPost; N.J. Star-Ledger; Cincinnati Enquirer; Inc. magazine online, as well as a widely reprinted New York Times story, discussing Twitter’s response to demands for user information in a case in France, and a Mercury News story, which ran in dozens of additional outlets, about Apple’s e-book ruling.
