Message from the Director
| To new students, parents, and families: Welcome to Santa Clara University! You stand at the threshold of a dynamic and transformative experience in your life. Students at SCU explore some of society’s most compelling questions in our classrooms and community. Our commitment to educate men and women of competence, conscience, and compassion is sustained by a strong and genuine community dedicated to the welfare of others. We are also committed to your welfare – students, parents, and family members alike. Throughout this transition, our entire staff is available to assist you and is committed to making this experience seamless and successful. The first step in this process is for you to attend Orientation. This is a time when you will receive academic advising and register for classes, but it is also a time when you will become familiar with the social and spiritual dimensions of your Santa Clara education. Your participation in Orientation is essential to your success as an SCU student and it is required by the University. I hope that you find your experience over these next months and years exciting and rewarding. Attending a Jesuit college or university is a truly unique experience. Our commitment to push the boundaries of knowledge for the common good earns national and worldwide accolades. Alumni of Santa Clara University enjoy considerable success in their careers not only because of the degree each earns, but the person each becomes. We welcome you to this tradition. The coming months will be a roller-coaster of emotions, sometimes more so for parents than students. Please know that we are here to serve you. If you ever have a question – no matter how complex or trivial – please call or e-mail us. The New Student Programs staff will make sure it gets answered. Welcome to Santa Clara University! Warm Regards, |
