Take the Calculus Readiness Exam

Many majors require one of the calculus courses, Math 11 or Math 30. Business majors, with a few exceptions, take Math 30 (Calculus for Business I), while majors in the Physical Sciences and Engineering take Math 11 (Calculus and Analytic Geometry I). Both courses are traditional calculus courses and require that students have a solid background of high-school mathematics. The purpose of the Calculus Readiness Exam is to let you know if you have the mathematical knowledge that is a prerequisite for studying calculus at SCU.  To determine whether you will need to study calculus, please review this information sheet.  If your major is listed on the sheet, you should complete this exam prior to your arrival at Summer Orientation.

Take the Language Placement Exam

This exam is used for determining language preparedness and placement at the elementary levels in French or Spanish. If you plan to study French or Spanish at Santa Clara University, you should complete this exam prior to your arrival at Summer Orientation.
