New Student Orientation

Housing for Orientation

All students attending Orientation, including students planning to live off-campus in the fall, are required to stay in the residence halls while at their respective Orientation sessions. This residence hall experience is an opportunity for you to experience Santa Clara's residential life and meet other new students. Because Orientation is an important academic and social experience, full student participation is needed.

IMPORTANT: Students are not permitted to leave campus at any time during their respective Orientation sessions.

Extended Student Housing

We understand the challenge in making travel plans for Orientation. Students with special circumstances may request to arrive one day early or stay one day later for their Orientation session. If you need extended housing, please contact us at as soon as possible prior to your Orientation session. In your email include your:

  • Full name
  • Student ID number
  • Cell phone number
  • Flight or travel information
  • Reasoning for why you need an early arrival and/or late departure

We will contact you after we review your request to let you know if it has been approved. Any requests received after June may not be considered for early arrival or late stay.

Housing for Parents

We are unable to accommodate parents in on-campus housing during Orientation. To assist parents with their accommodations, please view these online resources for housing options:
