What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class at SCU so far has been Psychology 1. Although the material was challenging, the professor presented it in an interesting manner. Her passion for the subject encouraged me to become more fascinated in the course. The experience combined interesting material, an engaged class, and an awesome professor!
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
I am an SCU Peer Health Educator. The events we prepare for campus have the common goal of making others comfortable asking questions about mental, sexual, spiritual, psychological, physical, and spiritual health. I am very excited to have the opportunity to promote healthy living on campus.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Don’t feel pressure to decide what major you want right away! If you know coming in, that’s great, but be open to other areas of study that may interest you. If you are completely undecided, that’s great as well! In time you will figure it all out. Relax and have fun along the way!
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I am SO proud to be a Bronco because I am part of a great group of students who make the amazing environment feel welcoming and warm. Everyone is friendly and willing to help.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
The Physics of Star Trek has been by far my favorite class here at SCU. Not only is Professor Keston a boss, but learning about the theoretical physics behind things like Warp Drive, Transportation Beams, and the 4th Dimension is awesome. There's nothing like having my mind blown for two hours twice a week.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
My favorite activity here is definitely being a part of the Men's Lacrosse team. There's something to be said about the bond that develops between players after having to run during practice so much. We are a family, and have a great, rowdy fanbase here on campus. Its always a great time practicing, playing games, and hanging out with the team.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
My advice for incoming students is the following: Take risks and get involved. Find something that interests you out of the plethora of activities, clubs and organizations here on campus and pursue it wholeheartedly. Devote time to anything that means something in your life, and take advantage of the insane amount of opportunities you can find here at SCU.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
What is there not to be proud of being a Bronco? But in all honesty not only is the community here at SCU wonderful, the students here are fun, not to mention the high quality of education this University offers. My time here at Santa Clara University has genuinely been the most fun and eye opening months of my life. The great experience that SCU is in itself is why I am so proud of being a Bronco.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
I really enjoyed my Business 71 Class. It was unique because the professors who teach it are local business people from Silicon Valley. It was interesting to experience a realistic view on the industry and participate in activities that prepare us for the business world.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
I have really enjoyed getting involved with the dance department. I never knew how many opportunities there were to become involved with my passion, dance, until I started dancing with the department. I have been in a show, taken a couple classes, and enjoyed every minute of it!
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
My freshman year has gone by so fast and I often forget to enjoy the everyday moments. Whether it was experiencing my first all-nighter in the library or celebrating the men’s basketball victory over Gonzaga, it has all been so enjoyable. Just remember to cherish every moment because you will not have these opportunities forever!
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I am proud to be a Bronco because of the community of people I am surrounded by. Just walking around I get the feeling that each and every person on campus is so excited to be a part of something bigger than themselves. This feeling gives me a sense of purpose and makes me appreciate that I am a Bronco!

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class at Santa Clara so far has been my Sociology class called the Self, Community, and Society. For this class I was required to take an Arrupe Placement. I really enjoyed getting involved in the community, getting to know and help teach first graders, and the community based learning aspect of the program.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
My favorite activity to participate in at Santa Clara is the Women's club lacrosse team. We have an awesome team, get the opportunity travel to Universities all over California, and compete in Playoffs and Nationals.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
I would tell any incoming Santa Clara freshman that they should be extremely pumped for the next four years of their lives. The minute they start to get involved in everything Santa Clara has to offer time will fly by. For that reason, I would also advise an incoming student to enjoy and never take a minute throughout the next four years for granted.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I am proud to be a Bronco because Santa Clara has a community that is truly unique from any other university. I love SCU! The students, the staff, the campus, and the opportunities offered here are all unmatched.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class at SCU was my CTW, which was my English class called "RockPopHiphop." My teacher was very engaging and interesting in class, and writing about popular music was very satisfying and rewarding. I got the chance to really improve my writing skills as I had the opportunity to write about a topic that was has influenced my life so much.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
My favorite activity at SCU has been my inter mural softball team. I play with a lot of the guys that live in my hall, and spending time playing one of my favorite sports every week is one of the best experiences I've had this whole first year.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
One of the most important skills I have learned to cultivate in college has been time management. It takes practice, because it's so easy to get distracted and put off work. Eventually, enough nights spent up doing homework taught me that I need to manage my time better.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I love being a Bronco because I love the fact that I get to spend my time on this beautiful campus surrounded by such genuine and honest people. The value of the Jesuit education of the whole person creates an environment and ambiance on campus that is palpable warm-hearted.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
It's a tough choice but I would have to say that one of my favorite classes has been Gays and Lesbians in United States History. History has never been a subject that necessarily intrigued me but this class brought a whole new meaning to it. We studied each important stepping stone in United States history, focusing on how these affected the LGBT community. Students of every year, ethnicity and sexual orientation enrolled in this course and the professor was one of the most passionate and personable professors I have met. Many campuses do not offer this course into their curriculum so the fact that SCU offers it speaks to the understanding and welcoming attitude of our campus.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
One of my favorite aspects of SCU is the intramural sport program. Anyone can participate whether you have played all of your life or you want to try a sport for the first time. It is just as social and relaxed as it is competitive and it is a great way to meet other students. There are so many different sports to choose from such as basketball, volleyball, soccer and even badminton!
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Reach out! The entire freshman class is in the same boat; you are all in a new place, trying to meet new friends and figuring out what you enjoy doing. So, even if you feel awkward at first, make the first move. Approach new people, introduce yourself and be outgoing. Meet as many people as you can from day one.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I am proud to be a Bronco because of the supportive and encouraging attitude of our campus. No matter what you want to get involved in, SCU has got it and you can guarantee that you will be supported by classmates, teachers, faculty and beyond. Whether you want to work at the De Saisset museum, play for the water polo team, travel abroad, work with Campus Ministry or even start your own club, the Bronco community will help in every way possible. As cheesy as it sounds, your wildest dreams really will come true.

What has been your favorite class at SCU/why?
My favorite class here at SCU was Women's and Gender Studies for my Cultures and Ideas requirement because we spent two quarters looking in to how local to global issues can be seen through a feminist lens. I've always thought of myself as being fairly open-minded, yet this class challenged me to look at issues through a different perspective--the feminist perspective--that I would not have thought about before.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
I joined MEChA-El Frente, the Latino student organization part of the Multicultural Center, which has allowed me to meet students from all different backgrounds and participate in interesting multicultural events this year--including Igwebuike's MLK Night and Intandesh's Bronco Bhangra.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
The best advice I can give to incoming SCU students is to be yourself, be willing to meet new people, and be willing to try new things. Freshman year is the beginning of a four-year journey, so strive to do the best you can in all aspects of your life--academically, personally, and socially.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class so far was Psychology 2. The class material was super interesting, and Professor McCormack is a sweetheart. I also liked my CTW sequence because it took my writing to a new level, and Professor Riccomini helped redefine the way I think about the world. He challenges his students to grow, and that's a very important quality in a professor.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
My favorite SCU activity is having late-night hallway chats with my fellow Dunners. I love when massive groups of people gather in the hallways to joke around and share stories until 2am. You really get to know people in that setting.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Be open-minded about new people and new experiences. Talk to someone you probably wouldn't have in high school--friends come in all packages. Try something new and go on an adventure! This is how to find out who you are and what you're truly passionate about.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
Let's be honest. Broncos are the coolest people ever. I am proud to be part of such a phenomenal and outstanding community that is so welcoming and close-knit. What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class at SCU so far has been Cultures and Ideas: Ideas in a Changing World, with Professor Sandhu. The material covered was thought provoking and explored the changes in society overtime. The fact that it was a two quarter course and Professor Sandhu's excitement in her teaching, lead all of the student to become really close and comfortable with one another. This class was interesting and a lot of fun, I would greatly advise others to take it.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
My absolute favorite thing to do at SCU is to enjoy the beautiful weather and even more exquisite campus. Spring days are the best for getting lunch with friends and lounging out in the grass, studying and soaking up the sun. Aside from this, I really enjoy all of the activities put on around campus; there is always something interesting and exciting going on !
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Have fun and remember your experience is what you make it! Understand that as your making the transition to college, there are many other people that are in the same boat. Santa Clara University is an amazing school and you will have many opportunities to try new things, meet new people, learn and grow. Be optimistic and open to change; college life is great and nothing to be afraid of!
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
Words can hardly express why I am so proud to be a Bronco! SCU is such an amazing campus. The class sizes are perfect, the campus is beautiful, and the resources that are available are extremely helpful. The most outstanding aspect I believe about the school is the people; there are so many caring and welcoming students and staff members at SCU. I am extremely proud to be a part of the bronco family!

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class would have to be my Art History Class, which is my Cultures and Ideas class. I've been to Europe twice for a total of two months, visiting Germany, Italy, and France, and it has been cool to see different pieces of art from Europe and being able to analyze them in class. The class has really opened my eyes to how unique our world truly is.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
I absolutely LOVE doing intramurals here on campus. Its an awesome way to get some exercise, laugh with friends, and meet other students/players around campus. They offer lots of different sports and provide excellent facilities to practice, play, and have fun. If y'all are bold enough to face me and my intramural crew...you'd best bring your A-Game!
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
The best advice I have ever been given as an incoming college student is to keep your doors and options open. College is such an awesome experience and Santa Clara has so much to offer. There are numerous to get involved and many opportunities to explore who you are as a young adult. A healthy balance of academics and extra-curricular activities will totally optimize your experience here at Santa Clara.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I'm proud to be a Bronco because I know that I am receiving some of the best academic and life skills that any institution has to offer. The faculty is incredible and care about students on an academic level as well as on a personal level. At Santa Clara, we as the student body and community take pride our work and actions, whether its in the classroom, on the courts, or on the streets of our daily lives. Here on campus, I feel like the community truly accepts my personality and skills, allowing me to express myself in unique ways and make a difference in the lives of those around me.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
Before I begin I just want to let you all know that if any of you are having any doubts about SCU, I assure you that you will get everything you want out of a college experience and more at SCU! While at Santa Clara I have been made numerous unforgettable memories, while participating in the wide array of activities within the university. My favorite class so far at SCU was Historical Archaeology that I took in the spring quarter. Even though this class was not a Business course, the historical artifacts, time periods, and cultures that the professor covered were very interesting and I was as engaged in every lecture and activity.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
Outside of class I have been involved in various intramural sports and leadership programs, but my favorite activity would have to be Club Boxing. Boxing was something that I had always wanted to try, but I never had enough time to do it because of school and sports.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
The possibilities are endless at SCU and if there is anything that I could pass down to incoming students it would be to approach everything, whether activities or people, with an open mindset because everything and everyone at SCU has something unique to offer.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class at SCU would have to be my LEAD 10 class, which is a difficult dialogue course addressing importance issues that are not spoken of in our communities. I find this class intriguing because it has opened my eyes to the flawed structure of our education system and how it is affecting the lives of many individuals trying to attain higher education. Furthermore, this is my favorite class because it has enabled me to see my opportunity in a different light.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
I enjoy being apart of the Multicultural Center, located in the Shappel Lounge, which houses nine different cultural clubs that are open to the Santa Clara Community. I am currently the Freshman Representative for Igwebuike, the Black Student Union on campus. Alongside this responsibility I hold the position of the Multicultural Representative for MEChA, the Latin Student Union on campus. These positions have enabled me to learn more about my different cultures as well as represent them respectively.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
As a freshman, I experienced some challenges at the start of my college career. I responded in a positive manner and soon was back on track to a successful year. It is normal to feel overwhelmed and challenged at the start of college because of different aspects, but it is crucial that you understand that persistence is key. After all, Santa Clara University has many resources to get you acquainted with the campus. I look forward to meeting you all!
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I am PROUD to be a Bronco because it has given me the opportunity to become the well rounded individual that I am today. I continue to excel academically, thrive in athletics, and empower the youth in the Santa Clara Community. What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My Philosophy class, Introduction to Ethics, has been my favorite class at SCU thus far. Now, I guess you could say my being a Philosophy major that may sound a bit bias, but it was this Philosophy class that even made me want to become a Philosophy major to begin with. The class did not require students to just have pen, paper, and textbooks; it required students to have an opinion, to provide reasoning, to question what we know and examine what we don’t. But in my opinion, the greatest thing I got from this class was something our Professor never required from us: to examine our own lives, character, and relationships. It honestly was the best hour, three days of the week for me!
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
“LET’S GO BRONCOS, LET’S GO!” (Insert roaring foot stomps here). There is nothing like going to watch a Bronco basketball game with your friends for yet another good night at SCU. One of my many favorite activities to participate in at Santa Clara would be putting my Ruff Riders shirt on, adding to the look with my face paint, meeting up with friends, and watching our Broncos play. It gets intense! Plus, the churros sold at the games aren’t too bad either!
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Put yourself out there! Whether that means saying “Hi”, joining any and every club, or even just smiling, don’t be afraid to try something new. As incoming SCU students you are all in the same boat with the same fears, worries, and nerves. Embrace it! Be open, smile, and don’t forget you are a new member to the Bronco family for a reason
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
The community at SCU makes me proud to be a Bronco. I remember during my Welcome Weekend I had heard the single phrase that I believed would describe my entire four years here at Santa Clara: “If you want to travel fast, go alone. If you want to travel far, go together.” Fr. Jack Tracy shared these words with me, and hundreds of other Santa Clara University students, families, and faculty during the Welcome Weekend Liturgy. Looking back on my first year here I am proud to say the freshman class, and the friends I have made from it, have survived and reached the end of our first year simply because we traveled together. We all felt the same nerves first day of class, we all can tell you about that same awkward laugh during our first embarrassing moment as freshmen, and even that first surge of excitement when being a Bronco finally sunk in – whether it was cheering at a game, eating with new friends at Benson, or simply just waking up every morning. You gotta be proud to be a Bronco!

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class at SCU has been the Sociology 30 class I took fall quarter. I nervously signed up for the class at orientation to fill up my schedule, and I had no idea what it would actually be about, or what I was getting myself into. I came to find that it was taught by an amazing professor who, through her own passion and knowledge about the subject, made me love the class and learn so much more than I anticipated. The reading material was interesting and relevant, and the discussions we had in class forced me to think about issues and policies I never thought about before. The moral of the story- even if you’re not sure about a class, try it out! You can always drop it if you don’t like it- but you might wind up inadvertently taking an amazing class, and realizing you are interested in something you’ve never even thought about before.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
My favorite activity to participate in at SCU is LUCHA, a volunteer program coordinated through SCCAP- the community service organization on campus. LUCHA allows students to go out into the community and volunteer at a local elementary school. It has been the most fun, entertaining, rewarding experience- and I have met so many amazing kids, and people in general, through the program. As with all SCCAP programs, it is SUPER easy to get involved with, and such a fun way to spend an afternoon!! Plus- who doesn’t love coloring, snacks, and recess?!
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
DON’T STRESS, be yourself, be open, and wave to people!! It can be really overwhelming to come to college and hear people constantly telling you that you need to get involved right away, be super outgoing, and meet a million new people- but it doesn’t have to be that hard! It can be as simple as waving to somebody in the library, or just saying hi to the guy behind you in the sandwich line. Those are the kind of experiences that make college so great! Don’t stress!! Everybody is in the same boat- and, even if it doesn’t feel like it at the beginning- you WILL find your place here! Start up conversations with people in your dorm, in Benson- wherever! Talk about the things that you are interested in- if you are open to new friendships and experiences, you are bound to find people who like the same things you do! Just be open, and be confident in yourself and your ability to have a fabulous home here at SCU!
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I’m proud to be a bronco because Santa Clara is my home away from home- and I feel so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful close-knit community. The people here at SCU are the most interesting, welcoming people in the world- and I am always amazed at how comfortable I feel here. I didn’t think it would happen at first, but I get homesick for SCU every time I leave- and I regularly refer to it as home. The campus is beyond beautiful (have you seen the grass??) and nothing in the world beats studying outside on one of our many lawns on sunny Santa Clara days- which are never in short supply. SCU is a family in every sense of the word- no matter where you go, there are always people waving and smiling- and you cant help but feel welcome! There are a million things to do on campus and off- and every day that I walk through SCU, I am so beyond happy and proud to call myself a bronco!

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class so far at SCU has been Sociology 30: Self, Community, and Society. This class focused mainly on the education system in the United States and was very relevant to the issues in education today. Not only was my professor, Ingrid Nelson, one of the most energetic and knowledgeable professors, she was also very passionate about the subject and was willing to let my class decide what to discuss. There was also an Arrupe placement where I was fortunate enough to work with Downtown College Prep Alviso and tutor middle school students in Math!
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
My favorite activity to participate in at SCU is definitely all of the athletic events! From watching the basketball team beat Gonzaga to playing intramural sports with my friends, I can definitely see the fierce competition here on campus!
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
My advice to incoming SCU students would be to:
1)Leave your door open when you are in your room! Everyone is afraid to knock, but if you already have it open, people will come in to talk or just hang out!
2)Don’t be afraid to ask questions and try new things! There are so many opportunities here at Santa Clara so don’t let a little fear stop you from joining a club, taking an interesting class, or meeting new people!
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I am proud to be a Bronco because of the unique family experience I have found here at Santa Clara. It is so nice to be able recognize people as I am walking to class, or always have someone to sit with in Benson. This small, tight-knit campus has really helped me to foster relationships with professors and other staff members and I am so glad that I am able to maintain these relationships after the classes are over!

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class at SCU has been my Spanish 2 class. I loved my professor because she was great at engaging the entire class and encouraging us to push ourselves outside our comfort zones. This class taught me a lot and made me passionate about continuing my Spanish studies.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
I love singing in the choir at 9pm Mass every Sunday evening. While everyone at Mass may not be Catholic, I think this time is special because it allows many of us to simply be together and pray together. I feel so fortunate to be able to help facilitate this experience for the many students, faculty, and staff of the Santa Clara community who come to Mass.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Do not be afraid to try something new. There are so many opportunities in college that you probably did not have in high school, so take advantage of them! Getting involved on campus has been great for me because it has allowed me to explore my interests and make lots of friends.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I am proud to be a Santa Clara Bronco because I love SCU's mission. The Santa Clara experience is not about just growing academically, but about growing as a whole person. SCU emphasizes the importance of social justice and solidarity with marginalized communities on both local and global levels. It makes me proud to attend a university that is educating students to create positive change in the world.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
I took Ancient and Medieval Philosophy my freshman year with Brian Buckley. It was a two-quarter class, the first philosophy class I had ever taken, and professor Buckley is to this day my favorite professor so far at SCU. The class intrigued me because most of it was just asking questions, which is what I love to do! Also, the second quarter of the class was focused on the relationship between faith and reason, which interested me because I am deeply passionate about both faith and being reasonable.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
Do I have to pick one? There are so many great activities to participate in! I love hooting and hollering for our Broncos at any sporting event, relaxing in the sun on the grassy knoll in Sobrato, or playing intramural soccer and tennis with friends. I also love love love retreats! I have been on retreats through Campus Ministry and Core, and retreats are an amazing way to get to know fellow students in a different context. But as much as I love all those things, or dorm events, or dance parties, or (the list goes on forever), overall my favorite activity has to be simply good, heart to heart conversations, often late into the night, with my friends. It is amazing to live close to so many fabulous people.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Don’t be afraid; college is a completely new experience for everyone, you are not alone! Take initiative to try new things. The independence at college is amazing; use it to focus on developing your character. There will be plenty of pressure to look a certain way, or have a certain personality, but what ultimately matters is within. Lastly, grow your whole being, physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual. The faith base at Santa Clara as a Jesuit university is a wonderful opportunity to develop your religious beliefs; ask the hard questions, seek out what you believe and why.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I am proud to be a Bronco because at SCU every student matters. Each person is a name not a number. Every college student is blessed beyond belief to receive a higher education, and at Santa Clara, I am proud to be equipped and enabled to impact my individual classes, entire school, surrounding community, and eventually the world. It is up to me and every other SCU student to appreciate our unique advantage and engage in our opportunities. And lastly, of course, we are 2011 CIT Men’s Basketball CHAMPIONS!

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class at SCU has been Sociology of Crime. It was a really cool way to use my knowledge of sociology and apply it to the criminal world. Also, it was my first upper division class, and was a great introduction to upper divisions.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
I would have to say that my favorite activity to do at SCU is participating in Intramural Sports or going to the gym. The intramurals are as competitive as you make them, and it is a really fun atmosphere when you get a group of friends together and just go out and play a sport. Plus, going to the gym can be a lot of fun because there are so many options besides just lifting weights or running. You can play basketball, go to the pool, take a Butts and Guts class, or just sit in the sauna.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
My main advice would be to not be scared of meeting new people or trying new things. Get involved, that's how you get to know more and more people and don't be afraid to break out of your shell. You'll find that most of the people you meet are genuinely great people.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I'm proud to be a Bronco because the SCU community is one of the most welcoming places on earth. The people here are so nice and pleasant to be around, as well as driven with good morals.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
Chemistry 12. I enjoyed the heavy math influence, and it was the first class that I just understood right off the bat. Professor Hoggard was extremely understanding, and was highly adept to the material, and to teaching it. I’m pre-med, so chemistry is pretty important. Having a solid base in general chemistry is always nice, especially when the subject matter is enjoyable.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
Playing basketball at Malley, be it pick-up or intramural, is one of my favorite things to do to get away for a bit, as well as get a quick workout in; and if that doesn’t do it for me, there’s always the gym right next door.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
You all just have to get out there and find your niche. Santa Clara has something for everyone, and with just a little effort and maybe a step or two outside your comfort zone, you’re going to find a solid home for the next four years. Try everything, you’ll be surprised what you really enjoy doing, and you’ll learn a lot about yourself along the way.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
Santa Clara is a school big enough to have rowdy basketball games and an incredibly diverse student population, but just the right size to still have your voice heard, and never feel lost in a crowd. The personal relationships with teachers is excellent, and the large number of clubs and their availability is fantastic. I’m part of the multicultural center here, and it’s great to see the support all of the different cultures here at SCU get from both students and the administration, as well as the outstanding representation of all these different cultures here on our beautifully compact campus. GO BRONCOS!

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
I honestly have loved almost every class I have taken at SCU but in particular, I loved my Critical Thinking & Writing class; Reading Ancient Egypt. This is because my class had a uniquely special bond. With only 16 of us, we got incredibly close and I really enjoyed going to class every day. It was challenging at first because the subject matter was something I never thought I would be interested in, but I really found myself delving into the ancient Egyptian culture and making really good friends at the same time. It also taught me how amazing our professors are, and how much they care about not only education, but their students as well.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
This changes all the time! I love being a member of my sorority, I love doing community service, I love basking in the sun with most of campus during fall and spring quarter, and I love going to sporting events with my friends. I love participating in the APB events and RLCA events and I love finding new activities to try. There is always something fun to do on this campus!
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Try new things! It's the only way you are going to meet a lot of different people and find out what really excites you. Branch out from the people you already know, get involved in something that sounds interesting to you because you will meet people with similar interests. Fall in love with as many things on this campus as possible--there are so many opportunities here! Don't be afraid to try something and then not like it--there are a million ways to be involved eventually you will find your niche! Also, go early to Benson on sushi Wednesdays and on dessert crepe days or else they will all be gone.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I'm proud to be a Bronco because I am part of an amazing tight-knit community of people who are socially & globally conscious and care about the world around them and who are also proud of their school and supportive of their classmates. I can't imagine spending my four years of college anywhere else!

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
There are so many that I’ve enjoyed, but if I’d have to choose it’d be one of these three: Dance 59: Teaching the Performing Arts taught by Professor Kusanovich because I love dancing and I love working with kids and I was able to do both in her class. Comm 105 with Professor Sunwolf because we got to learn about other cultures and their customs through storytelling. And Italiano con il Preofessoressa Bertola because she was so helpful and fun, and even though it wasn’t my best subject I loved studying about my culture and learning how to speak the language.
What is your favorite activity to do as SCU?
Intramural Sports with my friends because it’s always fun to compete against others, and it’s a great way to stay in shape.
What advice would you give to the Class of 2013?
Be yourself and have a little fun. College should be the best years of your life, and while you are here to learn, the friendships you form and lessons you learn outside of the classroom are more valuable than anything you can find in a textbook.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I love everything about Santa Clara. The professors and the campus are amazing, and the students are so welcoming and laid back. Broncos are just awesome, simple as that.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
As a Biology major I am required to take one year of Chemistry and at the risk of sounding excessively nerdy, I would say that my favorite course has been Chemistry 11 (also known as General Chemistry). Taken during fall quarter, Chemistry was one of the first classes that I took at Santa Clara and so for me, it truly highlighted the rigorous academic standards of the university. Professor Suljak taught an analytical stance of Chemistry, emphasizing a solid foundation of the subject, as well as strengthening the ability to think ‘outside of the box’ and beyond the general textbook problems. Chemistry is a class that is dreaded by many, but Professor Suljak made the class enjoyable and a great introduction into the academic life at Santa Clara.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
I am currently enrolled in the EMT course here at SCU and although it is very time consuming, it is also my favorite part of the entire week. The course is taken in order to receive certification as a nationally recognized emergency medical provider. In the course we discuss all components of medicine from brain contusions to stubbed toes. As I hope to one day be a doctor, this course has been especially enjoyable and valuable element of my time here at Santa Clara.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Get involved in everything on campus, even if you don’t think you’ll like it at first. Take advantage of every experience, you will find great possibilities in what may appear to be the smallest of opportunities. Be nice to everyone, you never know when you’ll find a best friend. This one may be pushed aside but…study throughout the entire quarter, it solidifies the information and I promise it will pay off when finals sneak up on you. Finally, Santa Clara is an amazing institution; so take advantage of every moment because the four years on this campus will whiz by.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I am proud to be a Bronco because of the unique, diverse, accepting, intelligent, athletic, vibrant, beautiful and incomparable group of individuals, both students, faculty, and staff, that I are present in the SCU campus. Never has the notion of a “home away from home” been so verified as when I moved away from my family in Denver to become a student at SCU. As a Bronco I have been given the unique opportunity to strengthen my academic and social skills, work in close proximity with the faculty, join athletic programs, participate in extracurricular activities and meet individuals from all over the world. Most importantly though, I am proud to be a Bronco because I have found a support system of individuals that have made it there desire to educate me and aid me in achieving my own goals and aspirations.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class thus far at Santa Clara was my Business 70 course with Professor Finocchio. Being a business major, I found this course to be very valuable in establishing a solid foundation through being exposed to the different areas of the business world. It was not an easy course by any means, but by the end of the quarter I felt I had achieved the necessary competence and felt that I was walking away with a positive and excited outlook on my business educational future here at Santa Clara. The wealth of knowledge that Professor Finocchio possesses is a great resource, and I am blessed to attend a school where these resources are not limited. This course helped to reaffirm why I chose the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University as my college of higher education.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
Here at Santa Clara there are a variety of activities at any given time for one to become involved in. I enjoy the social aspect of the college experience whether that means going to the gym with some friends, throwing the frisbee or playing catch out on the lawn, hopping in the pool on a hot afternoon, walking off campus to grab a bite, taking a day trip with some friends to San Francisco, Santa Cruz, or Tahoe, or attending weekly mass on Sunday night before the start of the school week. At Santa Clara you are never limited to the same activities and are encouraged to make those activities something a part of who you are.
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Because I was in all of your shoes just one year ago, I know you have all heard and seen from both family and the media what the college experience is supposed to be like. While some of these portrayals are true, it is also true that each person's own individual college experience will be different from his or her peers. I encourage you to enter into your own college journey with an open mind and not too many premeditated assumptions about Santa Clara. Instead, I encourage you to find those one or two interests to pursue while you are here. I have served as freshman class community development chair as a part of Associated Student Government here at Santa Clara. I found that experience to be immensely rewarding, because it put me in contact with those people with whom I share the same interests and outlooks. I also feel privileged to serve as an active member of the Santa Clara community by contributing my talents and energies in ways that might otherwise have remained untapped.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
Because we beat Gonzaga in basketball...duh. I am also proud to be a Bronco because of the overall quality of life and experiences that one finds here at Santa Clara. Whether academically, socially, physically, or spiritually, everyone can find their own personal balance here. This well rounded molding that I am receiving at Santa Clara will help me develop into the man I hope to be. Here at Santa Clara we are given the tools to succeed and the direction to build our very own future. That future is bright...now let us show you why.

What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
My favorite class at SCU has been my first Ethnic Studies Class "Black Social Movements. It was really small so I got to connect with the professor, and I really connected with the class because we discussed a variety of issues in the Black community that still exist today.
What is your favorite activity to participate in at SCU?
My favorite activity is Global Village held every year during spring quarter because its sunny outside, and you get to hang out with friends and try different foods from all the different multicultural clubs!!
What advice would you give to the incoming SCU students?
Be yourself, never think you have to change who you are, even in college.
Why are you proud to be a Bronco?
I'm proud to be a Bronco not everyone gets a chance to be a Bronco!!!!!
