What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
Professor Carroll’s English 1 class was the most amazing class that I have ever taken because it really challenged me to think about my life in different ways. He helped me analyze concepts in terms of how they affect me and other audiences. It really helped me become more persuasive in my writing. I would recommend his class to anyone. I guarantee that he will change your writing style and make it at least three times better before the class is over.

What is your favorite activity to do at SCU?
I love hanging out outside with my friends playing sports, laying around, doing homework, etc. The community feel just can’t be beat, and it is such a gorgeous campus that I feel obligated to enjoy the many beautiful areas as much as possible. With sunshine almost 300 days of the year, it is a frequent and favorite activity of mine.

What advice would you give to the Class of 2012?
Take advantage of everything that SCU has to offer. College is what you make of it. If you have always wanted to get involved in a certain activity, do it. There are so many resources here that will help you become the person you want to be. You just need the initiative to do it.

Why do you love SCU?
What’s not to love? SCU has some of the most amazing people you will ever meet. They are open, friendly, and willing to help. Professors care enough to get to know you, both inside the classroom and out. They are genuine, brilliant teachers who inspire their students. The student body is equally amazing, talented, motivated, and driven to help other people who are less fortunate. The overall message here on campus is “education of the person as a whole,” and I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am to be a part of a school that really cares about its community. I have learned in so many ways other than in the classroom, and this community really makes SCU amazing.
