Major(s): Communication
What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
Communication 2: This was a fun class because I learned all about mass communication. It was interesting to learn about the history of how media has effected society and evolved. Through this class, I realized the power that media has in this world which is something I hadn’t thought of before. I also really liked this class because my teacher, Professor Heintz, always taught with enthusiasm making for an enjoyable class environment.
What is your favorite activity to do at SCU?
Dancing is definitely my favorite activity. Any chance I can do that here at SCU, whether I’m taking a dance class, watching a dance concert or simply dancing in my room is fun. I’m also, a very curious person so I love walking around and exploring different parts of campus. SCU is a beautiful campus so I always like to note the beauty in things from a simple rose to the architecture of the buildings. I like to take different routes as much as possible just to see what I’ll notice or find that I haven’t before.
What advice would you give to the Class of 2013?
Don’t be afraid! Yes, college can seem overwhelming at times, but don’t let that intimidate you. Go out and make new friends because those people that you meet will be the ones who will help you get through those freshman blunders and make your time here at Santa Clara memorable. Also, take advantage of EVERY opportunity you can. Sign up for clubs you’re interested in, take classes that you’ve never taken before, and explore Santa Clara! Being a part of the SCU community means being a part of a beautiful campus so appreciate every moment of it.
Why do you love SCU?
What’s not to love?! SCU is great in every aspect – the people, the teachers, the fabulous weather, the food! The list goes on and on.
