What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
Thus far, my favorite class at SCU has been Women in American Society taught by Nancy Unger. Her lectures were always captivating and thought provoking. There was also a great deal of class participation, something I really enjoy. In addition, I learned a lot of things which I had not yet been exposed to because I had never before taken a class focusing on women. The class helped me to better understand why it is I think the way I do as well as the society in which I live.
What is your favorite activity to do at SCU?
At SCU, I really enjoy just spending time with my fellow broncos. This includes cheering on our team at a sports event, listening to a band perform in The Bronco, playing Frisbee on the lawn, or just studying together and having a good time. I’ve really enjoyed meeting new people and hearing their stories, for each one is different.
What advice would you give to the Class of 2013?
I would encourage the Class of 2013 to get involved right away. This is something I did a poor job with. I did not join as many activities right off the bat, but I should have. It took me longer to make friends and my first quarter experience suffered because of this. Though I am trying now to get more involved in the school’s various activities, I would have had a much easier time adjusting had I done so from the start.
Why do you love SCU?
I love SCU because of the people who make up SCU. I’m not sure it would matter how great programs or classes were without great people to participate in them. Our teachers are wonderful. Their classes are engaging, and they truly care about the success of their students. In addition, I feel like I have made some of my friends for life here at SCU. I love meeting these people with various backgrounds and experiences, yet all having things in common which link us together.
