What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
Poli2, Comparative Politics with Professor Hanson has been my favorite class so far. We focused on the politics of three different countries, comparing and contrasting their government policies. Professor Hanson is extremely passionate about these topics and is willing to help out anyone who needs help. He doesn't just lecture the class but engages the class in role playing, like coming to class dressed as a general from Communist China and having us his "troops" prepare to invade villages. His passion for the subject inspired me to learn and so I thoroughly enjoyed his class.
What is your favorite activity to do at SCU?
I love hanging out in the dorms, spending hours late at night talking with friends, playing intramural soccer, and studying outside all day under the sun with friends.
What advice would you give to the Class of 2013?
I advice the Class of 2013 to be yourself. Coming to college and having to start over is a bit overwhelming but if you stay cool and be yourself the right people will naturally migrate to you. College is a blast so take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.
Why do you love SCU?
I love the people, the weather, the professors, and the great sense of community. I can easily step outside my room and always have someone to greet or talk to. The professors are helpful, the classes are small, and the campus is beautiful.
