What has been your favorite class at SCU and why?
Honors 11: Classical Culture. This was a class that dealt with classic Greek and Latin literature. Reading and discussing the works of Homer, Plato, and St. Augustine led me not only to gain an appreciation for the works themselves but a new profound understanding of myself. In the small class size, I was able to better understand the material as well as get to know my professor, Father McCarthy. Throughout the quarter Father McCarthy would join our class for dinner and we even had the opportunity to join him on a field trip to San Francisco.
What is your favorite activity to do at SCU?
Associated Students. As a senator I get to see and understand a great deal about the decisions and processes that run the school. I've met many new faces across campus and fostered relationships with administrators. Furthermore, the people I have met in AS are outgoing and overall just wonderful people to work with.
What advice would you give to the Class of 2013?
Do what you love and love what you do! Enjoy the college experience and meet as many people as you can. You will share moments that you stay with you forever. When it comes to school, manage you time well. Four classes may not seem like a lot but it sure is a lot of work--- so don't procrastinate.
Why do you love SCU?
I love the small class sizes and small college atmosphere. I've met people who I am sure will be friends for life. College here is one where anyone can find their niche. There are so many people that share my common interests and activities.
