Welcome to Santa Clara University! Over the next four years and beyond, we hope that you will become a proud and active member of the Bronco community. In the next few months, you and your student are likely to become anxious and excited about all that comes with beginning a Santa Clara education. The information on this site is designed to answer some of your initial questions about Summer Orientation and your student's first year at SCU. You will also find helpful information on the University's Parent Page. Parent OrientationParents are encouraged to attend Summer Orientation with their student. Although conducted simultaneously, parents/guests participate in different programs than their student. Parent Orientation offers you an opportunity to learn firsthand the values, goals and practices of Santa Clara University. You will meet and interact with the President, Provost, Dean of Students and many other faculty, staff and student leaders during your visit. On-campus accommodations are not available for parents during Summer Orientation. The program is designed with considerable input from parents of current students at SCU. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the social, spiritual and academic development of your student from students, staff and faculty. From a question and answer period with the Dean of Students to attending a "preview class" with one of our esteemed faculty, Parent Orientation is a time for you to experience the many unique aspects of Santa Clara Univeristy. The program schedule for Summer Orientation is much different than Welcome Weekend. While there is opportunity to gain some information during Welcome Weekend, Parent Orientation is the most comprehensive opportunity to learn about the student experience at SCU. Please visit these pages that will help prepare you for Parent Orientation: |
