Transfer and Commuter Event Information

  • The Get Organized! Vendor Fair is held on the Santa Clara Mall between Benson Memorial Center and Kenna Hall. This fair includes some of the most sought after on and off campus vendors, including local banks, stores, hotels, restaurants, and services available to SCU students and their families.  Many on campus offices will also be available at the fair to answer questions and provide resources. This fair is a must to get prepared for the academic year!and Kenna Hall.
  • RLC Community Conversations are most often organized by residence hall floor.  For those of you that will be living in the residence halls, this is a time for you to get acquainted with other students on your floor, your Community Facilitator, and other members of your RLC Leadership Team.  These meetings are mandatory for all resident students. Commuter students are welcome to attend a Community Conversation in their assigned RLC.
  • The President's New Student Welcome brings together all new students and their families.  University President, Fr. Michael Engh, S.J., and Associated Student Government President, Christopher Mosier ’11, will greet you and share some guiding words as you begin your SCU career.
  • SCU Presents! is a showcase performance to introduce students to the Performing Arts at Santa Clara University.  The show will include scenes, songs, and dances directed, choreographed, and performed by SCU Students, as well as a performances by Supertonic, SCU's a cappella group, and Inoperable Humor, SCU's improv troupe.
  • The Welcome Mass and Reception is an exciting and important time for students and families to come together and pray for the success of the new year. Join Fr. Michael Engh, S.J. and the Jesuit Community in a celebration of new beginnings. People of all faiths and beliefs are truly welcome to join in this community celebration. There will be a Reception in the Mission Gardens at the conclusion of the Mass.
  • Freshmen Community Meetings are designed to introduce the rights and responsibilities of students at Santa Clara University.  These meetings will include presentations from the Associate Dean of Students, Campus Safety Services, ASSCU, and the EMTs. All freshmen resident and commuter students are expected to attend.
  • Crash Course is an opportunity for you to explore campus and find the location of all of your classes.  Orientation Leaders will be available at the fountain outside of Benson Memorial Center to guide you around campus, and show you where all of the buildings are located.
  • Come show your SCU spirit at the Bronco Pep Rally on Sunday at 8pm in the Leavey Center. The Bronco Pep Rally, hosted by the Ruff Riders, will feature appearances by the SCU Spirit Clubs, presentations by SCU Athletic Staff, and special performances by several varsity sports teams. Arrive early to see the men’s basketball team in action. You won’t want to miss this great opportunity to cheer on your SCU Athletes, practice the Fight Song, and show your Bronco pride.
  • After the Bronco Pep Rally, head over to the Santa Clara Mall for the SCU Kick-Off. This event will feature over 100 student organizations in one place and unlimited opportunities for you to get involved! The SCU Kick-Off is a great place to connect with old friends and to meet new ones.
  • The Activities Programming Board will host a Welcome Weekend Concert on Saturday, September 25th in the Leavey Center. More details and ticket information will be available soon.
