I have opportunities that I would like to list here. Where do I begin?
The Add a Listing page offers easy-to-follow instructions at the top of the page and the template at the bottom half of the page. There are clear instruction sthat will guide you through each step of the way.
I notice on the Add a Listing page, under Department Name, that there is a field for "Other." May I simply write our department name there?
That field is reserved for you to include a sponsoring program that is not listed on the drop-down menu. Please find your department or program name on the drop-down menu first and select it.
Isn't Title of Opportunity the same as Type of Opportunity?
No. Title of Opportunity refers to the name of the specific opportunity you are listing (for example, Leadership Development Assistants or Peer Career Advisors). Type of Opportunity refers to the category of experiential learning that this opportunity reflects.
What happens once I click on Submit?
The information you provided will be sent to a suspended file where the Site Administrator will review it and add it to the database for students to view.
I have more than one opportunity to list through our department. Must I re-enter the same information repeatedly with each new submission?
No. The page displayed after submitting a listing includes a form asking whether or not there are additional opportunities to enter. A "yes" answer will return the previous form with identifying departmental information. Fields for specific information relevant to a new opportunity will be blank and need to be completed as appropriate.
I will want to make changes later on in this quarter or at the beginning of next quarter. Do I need to re-enter the entire listing again?
Simply click on the Edit/Delete button and fill in the information appropriate to your needs. This information will be sent to the Site Administrator who will review and make the requested changes.
Do I need to use a special password?
No user name or password is needed. Any additions from inappropriate sources or bogus listings will be intercepted by the Site Administrator and deleted. Whenever there is a doubt or concern, the individual responsible for the listing will be contacted to clarify questions and verify authenticity.
We have information about experiences for students on our department Web site. Why list them on PRAXIS as well?
The significance of PRAXIS is that is serves as the single, comprehensive source of experiential learning opportunities for the entire University community. Your information will include a hyperlink to your department or program Web site or contact information where students may obtain full details. Listing your experiential learning opportunities on PRAXIS not only increases the number of students who are referred to your site. It also supports the effectiveness and success of PRAXIS as a central directory for students who are searching for ways to build the bridge between their academic work and the real world in which we live.
