Sorting Food for FIND in Palm Springs
Palm Springs Chapter
Twenty alumni in the Palm Springs Chapter gathered for the Alumni for Others (AFO) service project at FIND (
Food in Need of Distribution)
facility on April 2.
They sorted and packed almost 3,000 pounds of goods in two hours.
FIND Food Bank services over 100 agencies from Banning to Blythe each month and provides 80,000 meals to those in need.
In February alone, FIND provided a record number of 112,000 meals to the needy.
The group of alumni ranged from Tom Kelly ’58 to the granddaughter of the project coordinator, Maureen Specchierla’65 who hopes to be part of the Class of 2024.
