Paul Murray has been living and singing in the Bay Area for the last six years. He received his Master’s degree in 2005 from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, under the tutelage of Leroy Kromm. Since then he has pursued a variety of performance opportunities. Recent operatic highlights include the roles of Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte, Bangkok Opera), Schaunard (La Boheme, Livermore Valley Opera), Bluebeard (Bluebeard’s Castle, Berkeley Opera), the Four Villains (The Tales of Hoffman, Berkeley Opera), and Zuniga (Carmen, Opera San Jose). This November he will appear as Alidoro in Opera San Jose’s production of La Cenerentola.
On the concert stage, Mr. Murray recently appeared with Symphony Silicon Valley singing Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass under the baton of Jane Glover. Other favorite credits include the roles of Paul (St. Paul, Ft. Wayne Bach Collegium), Adam (Henry Mollicone’s Beatitude Mass), Jesus (St. John Passion, San Francisco Bach Choir), as well various song cycles of Schubert and Schumann in recital.
In addition to his performing schedule, Mr. Murray teaches collegiate voice lessons at Santa Clara University and privately from his home in San Rafael, and loves riding Mt. Tam on his mountain bike.
