1. How do you define a great application?
A great application is one that depicts who a student actually is: what he is passionate about, how he is involved in his community, what challenges he has overcome, what life lessons he has learned? Of course there is a lot more to each student than space allows in an application, but typically the better the picture portrayed, the better the application.
2. What inspires your work?
I am inspired by the opportunity to share an incredible university with students and families near and far. I have been a part of the Santa Clara community since 2004 and I am grateful for the outstanding education I have received and the lasting friendships I have made. Reflecting upon my own growth during my time at Santa Clara, I am inspired to give students the opportunity to blossom as I did.
3. What do you do in your spare time?
I love to travel. Some favorite trips include backpacking throughout Guatemala, exploring the Inca ruins in Peru, dancing at a bluegrass festival in Australia, whitewater rafting on the Rogue River in Oregon, and snowboarding in Whistler, Canada. During my travels I love meeting new people, experiencing different ways of life, trying new foods, and participating in all things high-adventure.
4. What is your favorite song?
My dad raised me listening to Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and John Lennon. If I had to choose just one song, I'd probably say, "Forever Young" by Dylan.
