Why do you want to serve as an International Ambassador?
I felt I was not fully prepared for study abroad as I thought I would be so I would like to be there for other students as I wished someone was there for me. Study abroad is indeed one of the best experiences, but there were some things I wished I knew such as knowing the staff could be extremely helpful and understanding or to not be afraid to go out with the locals just because I was in a different country. I ended up doing those things, but there were some tips that could have been useful and I didn't know until I lived in Madrid for a month or so.
Deciding factor for studying abroad?
Defining Moment Abroad?
When my laptop broke before midterms and I had no way of fixing it because I would have to send it in to Sony repair, I broke down in my room, crying silently for two hours. It was that moment that I decided to stop counting all the bad things that has happened to me and began to take actions. I asked around for some options of what I could do and found there is hospitality in the world, but I have to reach out to find it. This lifted me and shed light on how life can be better if I think about those who matter versus others who do not even come close.
Advise to Prospective study abroad students?
I wished I had known other students on the same program because other students seem to have known each other and I felt out of place. It is a good idea to be really social at the beginning and make an effort rather than to establish friendships with the ones who have been established with others.
