Eucharistic Ministry Intern

The Eucharist is the sacramental and central focus of the celebration of the Mass. It welcomes and unites the Catholic community, who believes that the bread and wine is blessed and transformed into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. As the Eucharistic Ministry Intern, I hope to encourage Santa Clara students to come together as a community of believers in the spirit that all are welcome, and to share the blessings that the Mass has to offer. Since the beginning of my freshman year, I have enjoyed being a part of the loving and welcoming Campus Ministry family, such as Eucharistic Ministry, Mission Choir, Christian Life Community, Christians In Action, Interfaith Council, and Search retreat.

I am a sophomore Sociology major and Spanish and Theology double minor from San Gabriel, California. Interests of mine include photography, volunteering, physical conditioning, soccer, bike riding, singing, dancing, and playing the guitar. However, I am most passionate about volunteering as a result of my Catholic faith. I am strongly committed to developing a closer relationship with God. When I serve others, both inside and outside the Mass, I believe I am also serving God and following in Jesus' footsteps as a beloved disciple. My faith has always and will always be connected to my call to service.

My career plan professionally is to work for an organization or foundation that promotes social justice and sustainability solutions in one or more of the following areas: poverty, homelessness, food supply and production, water quality and management, and/or the environment. My goal is to develop my competence through my undergraduate and master?s degrees, as well as my conscience and compassion through my community service, internship activities, and immersion programs with social justice issues.
