Sam Conedera S.J.
Jesuit in Residence, Adjunct Professor of History
Sam is a native of Portland, OR, where his parents still reside. After graduating from Saint Louis University with BAs in History and Spanish, Sam did two years of volunteer teaching in San Diego and began a doctoral program in History at UCLA. He entered the California Province of the Society of Jesus in 2006 and professed perpetual vows in 2008. Sam completed his doctorate the following year and then spent an additional three years studying philosophy and theology at Fordham University in the Bronx, NY. This is his second assignment to Santa Clara as a history teacher. He will be here for two years as part of his Jesuit training for ordination.
