Her research also focuses on public memory of the Vietnam War in contemporary politics, interactions among discourse and visual rhetoric, and the rhetorical implications of image manipulation. Her dissertation examined how gender and Vietnam memory functioned in official and vernacular communication during 2004 presidential election campaign. She received a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013. Eriksson joined the communication faculty at SCU in January 2013, and teaches courses in public speaking and interpersonal communication.
