Barb Krause has more than 10 years’ experience as a practicing attorney representing businesses at all stages of development across a broad spectrum of industry sectors. Barb focuses her practice on advising emerging companies and innovative social entrepreneurs in many areas including formation, governance, debt and equity finance, employment and equity incentives, intellectual property protection and licensing, regulatory compliance, commercial contracting, and mergers and acquisitions.
Barb spent the first part of her career in top-tier global law firms (Bryan Cave, DLA Piper and Bingham McCutchen) representing public and private multinational corporations, private equity investors, leading financial institutions, and some of Silicon Valley’s most successful and well-known businesses in domestic and cross border mergers and acquisitions, later stage equity investments, debt finance, and leveraged buyouts.
In addition to her work with the GSBI, Barb extends her startup and social venture practice by teaching and mentoring legal and business professionals participating in Bay Area incubators and by lecturing at Santa Clara Law School as an adjunct faculty member. Barb earned her M.A. in Germanic Languages and Literature from the University of Kansas, and her J.D. from Cornell Law School.
