Faculty-Student Research Assistant Program (FSRAP)

Full time faculty are invited to submit proposals for the Faculty-Student Research Assistant Program (FSRAP). Deadlines will be announced by the Associate Provost for Faculty Development.

In this program, students eligible for the federally funded Work-Study Program will serve as research assistants for the year; faculty will serve as mentors to the students. The Faculty Development Office will provide assistance in locating work-study students.

Highlights of the program:

  • Students will serve as research assistants to faculty six to ten hours per week.
  • Students will earn approximately $10.00 per hour, funded in part by the Work-Study Program.
  • Training in software or research skills will be available to students from the Information Services staff.
  • Student and faculty participants will be invited to a spring quarter reception.

Please submit electronic proposals by the deadline using the online application form (PDF), with a copy to your chair and dean. Chairs and deans will be asked for a brief recommendation. A sub-committee appointed by the chair of the Research Committee will select the faculty participants.
