The Presidential Special Recognition Award recognizes a faculty member for carrying out the mission of the University.

2013 Award Winners

Shoba Krishnan
Electrical Engineering

krishnan210Shoba has been awarded the Packard Mentor/Scholar Endowed Term Professorship for the past five years for all of her efforts to extend opportunities to young women and other traditionally underrepresented groups in the field of engineering. She has assisted the Center for Science, Technology, and Society, the Leavey School of Business and the School of Engineering’s Frugal Innovation Lab in the search and recruitment of students for their fellowship programs. She helped found the student chapter of Engineers Without Borders and has been the faculty advisor for the IEEE student organization for more than 10 years.

Hoje Jo
Finance

jo100Hoje's work is in corporate social responsibility, ethics in finance, venture capital and entrepreneurial finance. Twenty of his 60 articles have been published during the last three years. His 2009 paper, The Economics and Politics of Corporate Social Performance (written with David P. Baron and Maretno A. Harjoto), was awarded the Moskowitz Prize, presented by the Center for Socially Responsible Business at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. The Moskowitz Prize is the only global award that recognizes outstanding quantitative research in the field of socially responsible investing.
