War on Income Inequality is Good for Business
Business should declare war on income inequality, says dean Drew Starbird of SCU's Leavey School of Business. He maintains that business doesn't exist in a vacuum, and healthy businesses thrive in healthy communities. He suggests that without a healthy society, commerce is a meaningless concept.
The dean sees the need for America's business leaders to recognize that concentrating economic and political power puts our governance and commercial structures in jeopardy. It's important, he says, to understand that business exists in the broader society that includes all people and their concerns - about life, family, governance, public policy, fairness, ambition, and hope.
