Provost's Responsibilities

The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is Santa Clara's chief academic officer. The Provost oversees the schools and College along with all undergraduate and graduate educational programs and curricular offerings. He works to enhance the intellectual vibrancy of the faculty, student body, and curriculum by providing leadership in matters related to academic affairs, faculty affairs, information services, and student life.

In collaboration with an exceptional team of deans, vice provosts and staff, the Provost oversees dozens of offices and programs, including two Centers of Distinction, Faculty Development, Research Initiatives, International Programs, the University Library, Information Technology, the Core Curriculum, the Drahmann Academic Advising Center, Residential Learning Communities, Student Life, the Honors Program, Lead Scholars, the de Saisset Museum, Athletics and Recreation, Assessment of Student Learning, and Institutional Research.

The Provost also has responsibility for efforts to advance the University's five strategic priorities:
